The Sustainable Winegrowing Australia Advisory Board held its second meeting on 19 August 2026 at the Australian Wine Research Institute, Adelaide.
The Board approved the Sustainable Winegrowing Australia Advisory Board Charter, formalising its governance framework, and approved the Terms of Reference for the Finance, Risk and Audit Committee. Board members heard an update on member feedback and themes from AWRI help desk engagement – insights that are contributing to the development of Sustainable Winegrowing Australia’s strategy.
Board members also welcomed a briefing from Meagan Littlejohn, Programme Manager of Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand, drawing on lessons from an established international sustainability program relevant to Sustainable Winegrowing Australia’s continued development.
The Board progressed its review of the Sustainable Winegrowing Australia 2030 Strategy and the draft Annual Operating Plan, with a final strategy to be put to the Sustainable Winegrowing Australia governing body (SWORD, comprising Wine Australia, AWRI and AGW) at its September 2026 meeting.
The next Advisory Board meeting is scheduled for 16 December 2026.
